Memorial Service

Each year leading up to Christmas we hold a Memorial Service to remember loved ones. We read out the names of those known to us who have died throughout the year and an opportunity is given for anyone to light a candle in memory of a loved one. This service has grown over the years and seems to meet a need - particularly leading up to Christmas. Although it can be an emotional time it is not intended to be a sad or morbid time. We come to celebrate the lives of those who have died and to remember the great hope of life eternal that Jesus gives to us.

Losing a loved one is a painful experience and many have found great comfort from the gospel message and much needed support from being together with others. There are a number of people within the congragation who have experienced the loss of a loved one. If you think it might be helpful to meet with others then you would be welcome to come along to any of the services. Alternatively you might like to come to the church on a Thursday morning when the church is open for quiet prayer.
